I have seen photos of cakes that wires sticking out holding fondant/gumpaste cutouts. I haven't found any wire of any kind in any cake decorating sections in stores, what kind of wire are people using for this?

I use 20 gauge floral wire found in the floral section of most craft stores.
It is not food safe though so I "glue" the wire into a coffee stirrer with chocolate and then insert that into the cake.
This way the wire doesn't come in contact with the cake.
