Wedding Cake Help!

I have been asked to a wedding cake for someone...It would be my 1st wedding. She said it is going to be a preety simple wedding Serving 80 - 100 people. Any ideas on what I could do...how much to charge?

The charge for the cake depends on the area you live in .. some charge from $1.50 a slice and up .. it all depends on what the bride wants .. cakes covered in fondant usually cost more... it depends also on the flavors chosen too ... good luck with your cake and remember to post pics!

I live in NC close to the SC border. I ger $3.00 per person for basic wedding cakes. If they want a deluxe frosting or cake flavor, it's .25 more per person.

Cheryl is right that it really depends on where you live.

When I first started making wedding cakes, I charged very little because I didn't have much experience and felt a little intimidated. I know now that I really undercharged by too much, sometimes losing money in the end. Don't make this mistake, but do charge appropriately for your experience.
