First Time Using Fondant

I will be making my first cake with fondant. Any tips?? I also would like to do a zebra cake. Please help me out with the stripes??

This is good video on how to cover a cake in fondant. Don't worry about not having a Mat, the technique is the same wether you're using a Mat or just a rolling pin.

Zebra stripes are super easy. Roll out a little bit of black fondant, slice off a sliver with a pizza cutter. Pick up your stripe, using a food safe paint brush, or just your finger (i've used my finger) ever so slightly dampen the back of the stripe. Just a couple dots of water will do, then place on the cake where you want it to go. Easy and surprisingly quick.
