I have a outdoor wedding coming up June 26th, I have never made a cake for an outdoor wedding, will buttercream hold up to warm temperature's? should I put meringue powder in it?
I need all the help I can get.
Thank You
Rowena
Give this one a try, Indydebi's Crisco-Based buttercream. It holds up super well in high temperatures. It's a favorite on this site.

Where are yuou located? What is hot? like 85 or 100 or higher? High humidity or none? All this factors into which recipe is best.
I've not used IndyDebi's but have heard many people say it's very good for hot weather.
Meringue powder really does not help. It's something Wilton made up to sell product.
Yes, by all means, try Indydebi's bc.
I made a cake for a friend last summer. On a hot, humid summer day, she left the cake in the trunk of her car while they ate in a restaurant. I was flabbergasted when she told me this. But the cake was just fine. Indydebi's bc really holds up to heat and humidity.
I also had a friend who had an outdoor party in July (in KY heat and humidity) at a pool. the cake I made her held up just fine as well.
I am from Indiana. Thank you for all your comments, I think I'm going to try Indydebi's's butttercream recipe. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
Thank You

Ive started using Indys recipe now for over 1 1/2yrs and I love it and it taste great!!! I get asked for that bc all the time. I live in the Houston Texas area, hot and humid...temps can reach 100 and hudimity is like being in a steam bath!!!!
It crust real good, so good that Ive banged my cake and I gotten the slightest tinyest dent in it!!! and it was hit hard, but when you cut into the cake its moist!
Someone also told me to try Sharon's Z's recipe as it has no milk products
