I made cookies today (tuesday), plan to ice tomorrow, bag on Thursday for a silent auction on Saturday. Will my NFSC still be fresh tasting?

I've used this recipe, and as far as I'm concerned, they taste even better after a few days! Not sure what it is - maybe the flavors get a chance to meld. Just be sure to keep them in something airtight so they don't get all soft on you (unless you want them that way!).

Thank you. I have them in a rubbermaid container until tomorrow when I'll bring them out to ice. I just want to be 100% positive nothing could go "bad" on them, since they were made so early.

You will be fine with Tuesday baking for a Saturday event. Although I try to be within 24 hours from baking to delivery on most orders, if I have to ship cookies, I often need to bake Monday for Tuesday shipping, Friday delivery and Saturday event. Everyone says they travel well and are still delicious. I have experimented at home and found that I really can hardly tell a difference on day 5 from day 1 if they are stored well. And, I'm used to having them straight out of the oven!

The only part of cookies left 5+ days I don't like is that the glace starts to harden. Otherwise, I think NFSC iced and wrapped, when stored tightly, will last at least a week with very good freshness. I tell my clients no more than 2 weeks, but I know they won't make anyone sick after that, they just won't be as delicious.
