Hello fellow cakers, I am hoping to tap into some of your creative juices to come up with an idea for a 40th birthday cake for my SIL.

This cake will have to be large enough to feed 50-75 guests and I have been given creative cart blanche as far as any ideas or design and flavors.

I am going with a raspberry white chocolate liqueur flavor for the cake with buttercream and fondant.

What I am struggling with is design or themes...

Originally we were going with something naughty to match my SIL personality, but with young children attending the party we decided this would not be appropriate.

My SIL is full time mom, works in a day care, and manages to keep her home spotless and is always ready to entertain on the drop of a hat... perfect hostess!

On weekends she is a F/T Hockey and soccer mom and travels every where and never misses a game, school play or event when it comes to her kids.

She is married and her last name is Rose and I was hoping to do something with roses...but my gumpaste roses are pitiful at best and the party is set for June 11th.

I have one idea for a topsy turvy cake where she is dressed in a wonder woman style costume made out of gumpaste and leaping over baskets of laundry, dishes and sports equipment... but as good as my idea is I am not sure that I have the skill set to pull it off.

ANy ideas, suggestions or feed back would be greatly appreciated icon_smile.gif

What about a carved Wonder Woman torso, from the neck down to the hip just past her belt, lying down? Maybe have individual red roses on stems scattered around the board with a birthday message? The number 40 somewhere? in 3D or flat? You can possibly use a corset cake as a guide?

Just an idea, have a look in the galleries or google images?

HTH!

Cheers!
