What to us to shine up isomalt gems?

Another cc'er had suggested I rub something on my isomalt gems to shine them up and remove residue. I cannot remember what it was - lemon juice? Anyone know?
I cannot access my old posts for some reason (this has been FOREVER, it seems)...
TIA!
