I just got a request for a cake with light pink icing with a giant cherry blossom (darker pink) covering the top of the cake. Does anybody have any idea how to make a giant cherry blossom?

the petals are heart shaped so I would use a large heart shaped cutter or make a template to cut around. . for the centre I would use a large star use a darker shade of pink for this . the centre you could pipe small dots for the stamens with royal icing in yellow.
I would make the petals with either flowerpaste or fondant with a fair bit of tylose added to it and dry them on some sort of former so the petals lift of the cake and give the flower a more 3d and not a flat look.
