Hi there, I have an order for 200 eggless vanilla cupcakes and a Sesame street themed 2 tiered cake. I am stuck as to how much to charge for the cupcakes and at the same time don't want to over price, being a home baker. Any suggestions would be really helpful. icon_smile.gif

I have a NYS Certified In Home bakery. I charge $22 a dozen and then if they want any additional items like fondant figures or something I charge more. As far as cakes go, which I have started to do...I have been doing $2-$2.50 per slice and use the Wilton Wedding Cake Guide as a reference. I have self taught myself everything and do not feel comfortable with cakes. I have been kind of "thrown" into it and the cakes have turned out nice.
I have learned on here, that even though you don't have the added expense of a shop you don't want to charge too little. You need remain competitive where ever you are. And if you hope to open a storefront one day, you don't want to have to up the price to cover the costs. Hope this helps and good luck!
