cakesdivine, I am like you... original concept not done before. We are ready to file our trademark also. Are you having an attorney file? We are having an attorney do it after I found that if it's wrong, you lose the filing fee.

This is the reason I have no website posted and no pictures. I never talk specifically about my business. I'm not even doing it after the trademark filing. I can still be loosely copied and I'm not putting it on a worldwide site. I have other locations that I want.

Hmmm, I tried the link and all I got was a black page. Maybe they read on CC what bad website it was and now they are fixing it?

I too have been offering the same type service as cakesdivine for several years now. I do alot of events for children and it works wonderfully. Inspiration for this came to me when I was visiting Arizona in the 90's. Came across a Cold Stone Creamery and thought...wow...this would work with cake too! Just like a cold stone creamery, the customer picks the flavors and you put it together on the spot. Combinations are limitless, like a trifle or sundae bar. I believe that if cakesdivine pushes this through, she will be very successful! So Don't Stop!! I know I would be interested in franchise information when it comes available and I'm sure many others would too.

The second I realized there were no pics I did not want to go any further.
Grandma, I continued with my cakes. All that you taught me I am taking with me as I move forward. I miss you. Everytime I mix my batter please lay your hands on the mixer. Everytime I show my cakes it's "OUR" work on display. I hope I make you proud!

I've seen "cake in a jar" treats that are circles of cake layered with fillings and icing in a pint or half pint canning jar. They weren't baked in the jars, just presented in them....very cute because you could see the layers. It was at a boutique bakery in NYC, sorry I can't remember the name. Perhaps this is something similar but in a cup?? But how can we know without pictures or even a good description of the product? That website bites.

There is also this girl in NYC. She has 4 locations but she lets you cutomize and name the cupcakes on her website... Then you can order the customized cupcake

Yes, I've heard of quite a few businesses like this. My DD was at a wedding in Chicago just a few weeks ago that had a cupcake bar...I guess chocolate fountains are passe' lol. It's kind of a fun idea.
