I used my airbrush for the first time. I had made fondant roses with gumpaste added and let dry for a week. Today I airbrushed them red (AmeriMist brand of airbrush color) and they are shiny. Not the look I was going for.

Did I spray too thick? Should I have done lighter coats but done more? Any help would be appreciated.

After they dried for a few hours were they still shiny? If so, you might want try dry dusting them with matching color.

Steamed flowers look shiny for several hours and then lose their shine.

I'm sorry this isn't much help.

You might have layered on too much color. You might want to airbrush them orange or pink first and then a light coat of red that way it's not a lot of red coats....does this make sense?? icon_confused.gif
