Anyone have a good vanilla or yellow cake recipe? Need something moist. Last recipe came out so dry! icon_sad.gif

I use Martha Stewart's yellow and it comes out great... http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/recipe/basic-yellow-cake ... I do 20 minutes for cupcakes, but start checking early.

Sylvia Weinstock's original yellow cake:

I'm in love with cake...moist, buttery, easy. I think the sour cream makes all the difference. I made it into lemon cupcakes for Easter....I bake at 375 for maybe 15 minutes.

But don't make the "new" version of this recipe which has a cup of milk added...it tends to sink.

I just made a new vanilla cupcake....it was delicious...I just used a boxed cake mix, but after baking, I poured hot strawberry jello mix over them, and then injected them with french vanilla pudding. DELICIOUS and very moist.

I agree with jmat. I use the Martha Stewart recipe too, from her Cupcake book. I find it very moist and flavorful, even 2 days later. HTH
