I need to make the following things out of gumpaste on a cottage-themed cake for next week....

A dock
Fishing boat, fishing rod
A wooden chair
6 pack of beer
radio
A man laying in the boat with a cowboy hat and boots on

Any tips on how to make any of the following, especially the boat, the man and the chair!! Any help would be appreciated! If anyone knows of any free tutorials on how to make a gumpaste person that would be great too! Thank you!

Go on youtube to search, these all seem to be fairly simple you can also google how to make fimo charactors. To make things easier you can just mold things with white fondant and them paint them with food coloring. I'm sure you will do great!

Depending on what sort of chair you're after, you could use the Jem deck chair cutter set...it wouldn't we all 'wooden' though, but you could make the 'canvas' in a colour that didn't look beachy if necessary. I made a cake recently with this deck chair and built the figurine into it and it held up fine to the weight of the figurine. (Made chair out of Mexican paste with just a little fondant mixed in)
