cake pop help

Hi. I just made some cake pops for the first time last night and used the Wilton candy melts. I was making yellow and white. I'm wondering how to get the white to come out white-when melted it is more of a creamy color and not white or is there a better option to use? Also, how do you get the candy coating to on smooth and even? Thank you so much for your help.

I don't think you will be able to get true white from Wilton. I haven't tried other brands so I don't know if they are better. I thin down the wilton melts after i melt them with a little oil. Otherwise I find them to thick to work with and they don't go on smooth. It has taken me many tries to finally have some success with them. Good luck!

if you go to cakeart.com there is a "super white" or ultra white or something like that. I havent tried wilton but the brand I buy from cake art is very good. Good luck!
You can also use a little bit of super white food coloring in your candy melts.

Merckens makes Super White candy melts. Taste good too. I've had Clausen also - not good at all.
