I am looking to purchase bulk powder sugar but I ws wondering if anyone knows where I can get it for the best price.
I bought 50lbs at Costco - worked out to be $.60/lb.
I get bulk powdered sugar at Winco for .63 per pound. I usually wipe them out when I stock up.

If you are a licensed business you can buy icing sugar through restaraunt supply places like Sysco,Dawn Foods,Gordon etc..I buy mine from Dawn foods.It is a 80lb bag and I pay about $75.00..it has tripled in price in the last 4 years...You have to have business to buy from them and they also require a minimum amount.
At smart and final they have a 25lb for around $18 it's c&h
Bulk powdered sugar isn't really that much cheaper than smaller bags, and it's a huge PITA in bulk. We buy 2# bags at Target for around $1.50 IIRC.

75 cents vs 50 cents a pound adds up especially when you're using several pounds per week.

We use 5-10 pounds of powdered sugar per week on average (let's call it 10). The cheapest I can find powdered sugar in bulk locally is 65 cents/pound, so we're talking about an extra $1/week in ingredient costs.
If you value your time at $30/hour, and it takes more than 2 minutes of extra labor dealing with powdered sugar in bulk vs. smaller packages, you are better off spending a little extra for the convenience.
It's probably just me, but I actually find having to rip open several individual plastic bags and dispose of them more time consuming than dumping 50 lbs of sugar into a large container I bought at a restaurant supply store. I just scoop out what I need and reseal the container.

I agree that it's easier with granulated sugar, we definitely buy that in bulk. But the only thing we use powdered sugar for is making frosting, and we use 4 lbs per batch, so it saves measuring time to just dump in 2 packages.
