I made 20 Yo Gabba Gabba cakepops for a customer.Ther came out good but a few are oozing cake juice where the coating cracked a bit which almost looks like shortening droplets.I use a tiny bit of shortening to thin the coating.Up until now I have just been patching it with more candy melts and it seems to work but how can I eliminate it all together?

It is annoying when I went to package them and I noticed a few doing this...I used 2 tbsp of icing not liquid..Should I take out the shortening all togther and use straight candy coating..

What kind of recipe did you use? I have a pumpkin cake recipe that I noticed oozes oil because oil is the main liquid in it...but I haven't had that in other recipes but I haven't made too many....if its a recipe with oil as a main liquid ingredient that would explain it. Also how much liquid did you add to the cake to actually make the balls? The few times I make cake balls I don't even use a binder...the moisture from the cake works enough.
