Masquerade Ball For Girl Scouts

I have been asked to make a cake for a masquerade birthday party for October 29. The party is not the traditional halloween but rather the masks on sticks type of party. The cake will need to feed many ie: full sheet +, so a variety of smaller or shaped ones would work. The only thing I have is molded masks out of fondant.
Thanks,

do smaller cakes with just lots of color.. For instance you could do 8 inch round and some fake jewels (out of fonant) and some curly string to give it some fun.. Also you could do another one with some fake money.. getting near halloween I bet you could find the gold coins.. use the color of mardi gras ( green yellow pink) BUT do just the masquerade theme.. Good Luck!
I like the idea of mardi gras masquerade... You could do several square and round cakes and do each with a different background color, put masks of the other colors on top and make some fondant streamers and confetti in mardi gras colors. Purple, green and gold. For the gold, I always use Wilton's Golden Yellow when I make king cakes. I think it would make a really pretty display if they were on stands of different heights.
Actually, it is a costume ball with masks they are making... to ones on sticks. It is Juliette Low's, the founder of GS, birthday celebration. I would love to read about the ones for Boy Scouts
Thanks,

You could also make one or several of the barbie(wondermold pan) cake(s) and have barbie wearing a mask. If you are making several, you could decorate them all different.
You ought to go in the gallery and check out the events section and then go to the Ices Convention 2005 pictures. There are a bunch of mardi gras type pictures that would be great inspiration I bet.
