I am doing an Easter basket for Easter dinner. My mother-in-law wants angel food cake. Will whipped cream frosting hold up with the basketweave on the sides and grass on the top?

I don't think so. But I am interested in seeing what other people say.

I dont think Whipping cream can handle the basket weave, you need somthing more stiff like Butter Cream Icing. In fact I would never use whipping cream in a piping bag its too delicate & thin.

I have used Non dairy whipped topping (Rich's Bettercream) to do a basketweave. Not sure if you can obtain that where you are located? It has the capacity to be whipped to a stiffer consistancy than real whipped cream.

you can stabilize your whipped cream - wilton has a recipe for it. I think you use gelatine(knox)

I do not have not recipe, i used one that is ready to whip (the one you can buy in any cake decoration store). I whipped until look right to work with, and that it. But that was back in el paso tx, now i am in Japan, and i have to find a good recipe too.
