I need a cake with a fish coming out of the top. Any ideas. The person wants it to look like the fish is coming out of the water. Not sure what to use to make the fish, any ideas. I was thinking maybe sculpting out of cake but not sure exactly to go about it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I must help a fellow frog lover out!! I think sculpted would be neat but you would have to use something else for the fin, just add it on later. I guess it also depends on how large you would want the fish to be. You could also use fondant or gumpaste and mold it??

Wilton did make a fish pan. I found one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/WILTON-ROWOCO-CURVED-FISH-PAN-UN-USED-ALUMINUM_W0QQitemZ6205551407QQcategoryZ13926QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Maybe you could bake the whole fish and cut off the head and stick it on top like it is coming out of the water. Hope that made sense.

What about getting a chocolate mold of a fish and painting it with luster dust?

Thanks for the great ideas ladies. I am going to try to find a mold that would be big enough then mold it. Thanks again, I knew I would find the answers I needed here. You all are great
