Has anyone made "chocolate buttercream" with some type of flavoring instead of cocoa. I have someone that wants chocolate buttercream, but doesn't want the cake to be brown and doesn't want fondant icon_confused.gif Will it taste ok if I put reg buttercream on top for decorating purposes?

Thanks.

icon_confused.gif uuummmm......chocolate is brown. icon_confused.gif

What about making a white chocolate buttercream? Does the client like white chocolate? That would be my suggestion. Check the recipes here on cc.

Otherwise you could try putting a chocolate flavoring extract into regular buttercream. But I think that is a brown color and would turn the buttercream to ivory, if that matters.
