I want to get a clay extruder. Any advice on things to look for/avoid? Specific brands? Good place to buy? Thanks!

I don't know what your budget will allow, but there is a wide range of products out there. The first extruder I bought was the one with the push plunger but it was too difficult to use because of my arthritis. I have looked at others and since caking is only a hobby, I got the Makin's Ultimate Clay Extruder with a twist top. Much easier on my hands! Good selection of discs, too.

If you plan on heavy use, then you might be interested in a heavy duty model-Industrial Klay Extruder with a squeeze handle

Hope that helps you find what you need. icon_smile.gif

I recently got the Makins one that Kaytecake linked to, and I love it. I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the clay section.

Avoid the ones that look like this

It's very difficult to push the fondant through unless you break it down with shortening to a soggy mess.
