nope, I just poured it right in the mold, and it came right out when cool.
I agree with kake4umjp, don't use the microwave, do it on the stovetop.

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
2 T water
Boil to hard crack stage.

my first three efforts failed. trying again tomorrow. it always gets an amber color to it. grr. i'm going to try the recipe that was just posted and see if that works. otherwise, i'm going to try plain gelatin. when all else fails, right? lol

Hi, go to Youtube and watch videos on making "sugar glass"...its only a few ingredients like cream of tartar, sugar and corn syrup...boiled and poured out in a syrup-y texture on crumpled up "aluminum foil"...to airdry! Use the clear corn syrup.
