I saw a website where the cupcake stand rental alone is $150. I charge waaayy less than that. What's the going rate in your area? For cake stands and also cupcake stands. Thanks!

I just opened my business but I don't charge anywhere near that for stands. I charge different prices for each stand depending on the cost to replace. I just started my business but I charge between 20% - 30% of the cost of the piece. Of course it they break the equipment they have to pay the full price of the piece plus the rental fee. HTH

"party" rental stuff here is charged at 30%-50% of the reasonable wholesale cost of the item. The more unique, the higher the percentage... (may rent it less, so must recover costs).

I charge a $150 deposit and $25 weekly for rental of cake plateaus. The deposit is refunded less whatever the rental fee upon return in good condition. If they keep it 6 weeks, it's theirs.

So long as the deposit covers the cost of replacement (including shipping) you can charge whatever you want for the actual rental. Make sure you set out how much you'll charge for slight damage eg visible damage which doesn't affect the structure of the stand.

I make it easy for my customers because the goal is to eventually get the money back you paid for it ans then some. If you make it to expensive no one will want to rent. I live in somewhat of a low cost area so I charge $20 for the stand for the day. I also receive a separate deposit for the stand itself. That is the cost of the stand including shipping of that stand.

If I get no stand back that check is getting deposited. I think giving your bride a few days to return it is reasonable (someone or family member in her wedding can return it). I think a week is to long, assuming we strive to have a wedding cake every weekend.

We charge the full cost of the equipment as a refundable deposit plus one-third the cost as a rental fee.

I ask for a refundable deposit that's the same as the cost of the cake stands. No rental fees.

I believe that It definitely depends if you are renting from an online business or a local retailer.

Sometimes you can find very good retailers with great prices where it is better to buy the cupcake stand then to do the classic cupcake stand rental an then resell them online.

For my birthday my mother used www.cupcakestandrental.com and they shipped a very nice stand worth for that price in 24h !!

Everything depends on whether you are do cupcake stand rental online or by a local retailer.

Clearly online it is often much better to buy the cupcacake/cake stand directly and then eventually you resell them online.

For my birthday my mum wanted to rent a cupcake stand but finally she decided to buy a stand for a good price from www.cupcakestandrental.com and they delivered in 24h !!!

Then I sold it online and I could keep the gain as my birthday ... amazing !!
