Hi guys, I have an order for the cupcakes in the link. I'm about to place my orders online for supplies and can't figure out what kind of flowers are those. I thought maybe a cutter was used but then again it looks like royal icing kinda too or even gumpaste. Anyone knows how to create this flower (the ones on the cupcakes). I'm posting a link for the pic. thanks.

Thanks, but not the Peony i'm in question about. it's the little flowers on the cupcakes itself, not the flower untop the tower.

Uuugggg there was another thread and those same/similar flowers were asked about - Lots of answers too - but I don't know what the name of the thread was icon_sad.gif
It's a mold and *I think* either Globel or SweetArts has it; probably bothicon_smile.gif
You could make it by hand - just make a pea sized ball of gp into a teardrop, then cut it into 5 petals and work them w/your fingers; thin the petal edges with a ball tool.
The mold gives you the veining on each petal so it might be worth buying it.

OP - i think you may find that it is this one
http://bakingpleasures.com.au/p2244/sculptured-blossom-veiner

I have it and the flowers that are on the cupcakes are the same as what i make using this veiner.
I just use a 5 petal cutter (small) - and thats how i get the flower you are talking about.

Not sure if it would be called the same in the States - but if you search "blossom veiners" i am sure you will see it.
Just Google - "blossom veiners" and then click *Imgaes* instead of searching the actual Wev.

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster... I had to join up to post this one thing...

I am warning you all, for the sake of your bank balances (and marital harmony), don't come on CC when you're off from work sick, the day after payday... I've just been and found that blossom mould (in 2 different sizes), plus a hydrangea mould,, plus a whole heap of cookie cutters, and spent £80 online shopping to "make myself feel better/give me something to look forward to after I am better" Aggghhhhhhhh!

Anyway, gorgeous blossom press, I have just the use for it, and I found it (and everything else I bought) at Blossom Sugar Art (UK-based).

Cheers

Ness

lol lol.....i know what U mean! i spend way too much on these little gadgets icon_biggrin.gif I have a morning glory mold, so i'm gonna try to use it to make those flowers with my 5 petal cutter. i did a test run and they came out great. no need for me to waste money on the blossom veiner just yet!
