im gonna be making a baby bump cake here soon and i have a few questions. whats a good size bowl to use for the belly and how long would i put it in the oven for? what works best for making the boobies? and would i be putting round cakes of a certain size under the belly to raise it up more or would i have to carve round cakes with the bowl shaped cake to make it more round like a belly? if anyone can help me out i would greatly appreciate it. this is my first baby bump cake and for a client that's not family or friends and i don't want to mess it up. or if you have a tutorial to help me it would really be helpful. i learn better by watching someone so like pics or a video if anyone knows of any out there please let me know. i found this picture on here but i cant find it again to ask questions on how they did it so ya. this one is the clients favorite.
I like the ball pans for the boobs and a large mixing bowl for the belly but you have several options. I get out my cake board and flip all my pyrex bowls upside down to see how big the cakes will look. Get the proportions right visually on the board and switch out different bowl sizes til you feel like it looks good. It depends on the servings you need as well, how many do you need?
