Hello,

I recently found some cute flower pot-shaped silicone cupcake liners/pans (whatever you call them). When I got home, a friend of mine called and told me that she gave hers away because the cupcakes didn't bake right. She said they weren't done in the middle and didn't rise the way she would have expected.

Should I take the liners/pans back before I use them or should I keep them? Do they not work well?

Thanks for your help.

Laurel

I have these things in heart and circle shapes and have had no problem with them.

I'm always nervous about using plastic/silicone whether it be in the oven or microwave, but that is just my personal opinion.

Thanks, everybody. I think I'll take them back. They're not THAT cute! LOL!

Laurel....WOW! I've only 'met' a few other Laurels in my day. Do you have problems with the way people say and spell 'Laurel', like I do? The other day, I called in to get a to go order at a restaurant. When the guy asked me my name, I said, "Laurel". He said "Olga?" THAT was a first! LOL!

Does anyone know if they make special liners for silicone cupcake moulds? I tried the standard size muffin liner, 2" base, and one side of the liner kind of sunk and the top was uneven. The base of the silicone mould is about 2 1/2 inches. The main reason I bought the silicone mould was because the sides are straight up and down. I don't care if they stick, (which they do unless you use a ton of spray) because I would rather use liners anyway. One thing I love is how evenly they bake! the sides of the cupcakes were the same color as the middle, no browning on the outside.

The jumbo liners are 2 1/4" base, but they are taller. I guess I will try that next.

Is anyone else obsessed with cupcakes with straight sides?? icon_smile.gif I know it's silly but I think it looks so cool.
