I'm doing a picket fence on an Easter cake (although I haven't thought much about it yet!). Will bookmark that link for next month! Thanks!
I did a fence in this cake: http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1790760
I precut the fence posts and let them harden and then applied them to the cake.
I made my own picket fence as well---I cut it free hand and glued it together, then I used some toothpicks pushed it through the posts to hold it up on the cake. I don't know how to attach a link to my pictures, but if you look at my pictures you will see my daisy cake.
I also did one, but used white chocolate and a mold I purchased on Ebay:

I stumbled on to this by accident . Type in wlton pattern locater. Whenyou get to the site you will see that pattern locater will come up.Three of them say pattern locater and wilton is right beside it.Click on the one that will say pattern locater .you will come onto the site and it will have all the patterns that wilton has in iits books. It does have a pattern that you can download.
There are different pattern locaters . So good luck and have fun

I just put this to my favoites
I just did this on a cake. I drew it out, rolled out my fondant, traced around the pattern with xacto knife, let it dry a few minutes, and laid it againsty my cake. It worked out good. The only advice I have is for the board that runs horizontally down the fence line.......make sure it is thick enough that it doesn't break when you pick up your section of fence. I hope that made sense. I covered my breakage with grass and flowers.
Good luck and happy baking!
Jennifer Dontz w/sugardelites.com has a cutter for a picket fence. Just check it out in her website store.
