Does Anyone Know How I Could Do Either Of These

I had a young lady ask me to make a caboodle cake...I already let her know I didn't know how, but now my mind is working over time. Does anyone know how I could do this either open or closed

i would do it closed, carve it like above said. then you can add fondant or gumpaste accents for the latch and handle. maybe put makeup around it, or hair bows. hth!
I think I'm gonna make a tackle box for my dad that looks like the closed one. I'm gonna start with stacked 9x13 or maybe even a loaf pan. Then carve it from there.
But if anyone comes up with a how to to make it open, I want to know too!
i would try and stack sheet cakes, then carve out. for the lid i would try modeling chocolate with fondant mixed (it woudl need to dry for a few days or gumpaste) or perhaps try and pour it out of colored candy melts. it's exciting trying to figure out how to make objects out of cake!! hope you post what your final decision is!!
thanks ... yeah this is one of those cakes that is gonna get made whether for a customer or not...l0l I just gotta try. I didn't even think about the purse cakes...gonna go back over the videos & try that too
sebrina let me know who your tackle box turns out
