I made the WASC cake for the 1st time last night and I used Almond oil the oil smelled REALLY strong so instead of adding a tsp I added 1/4tsp and omg they were horrible the smell alone was overbearing. Im thinking there must be a world of difference between the two? I had to throw 3 dozen cupcakes away!

In the WASC recipe is the Almond flavor really strong?

Oils are usually more concentrated flavors and don't take as much as flavorings do.

Maybe thats why the Almond was outragously strong? Have you tried the WASC? Is the almond really strong in that recipe as far as taste/smell?

I had the same thing happen to me, but with orange oil. My recipe called for 1 tablespoon of orange extract, but I didn't have that but I did have the orange oil. It did smell strong so Idecided to just add 1 teaspoon. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! Tasted like a cleaner!!! Is there a formula you use to get it right?
