I have a guy who met me at the bridal show. Says he knows I can come up with something "unforgettable". Says he doesn't remember what the cakes looked like at the last 3 weddings he went to.

No pressure.

I am SO STUCK.

He needs 200 servings. Wants something unforgettable and unique. He wants to incorporate the claddagh ring theme. His "save the date" cards have a celtic knot around the border and the colors are royal and navy blue.

I have such bad designer's block. PLEASE help me!!

I think you could come up with something really wow with those colors and the theme... it depends on what he wants to spend though.

My first thought is a navy blue cake with silver accents.. Drapes of royal blue with black/navy tartan with tassles and celtic knots and claddahs. Let me think on it a while and see what I can come up with.

Hmm, I don't do weddings but I do love Irish stuff! Will that work? icon_wink.gif Maybe a different take on the Claddagh, incorporate some knots in it--my ring doesn't have a thick band but knots going around the sides. Stick more with assorted knots/mythogy related stuff possibly and no shamrocks! Trinity knots, Tree of Life, something different. Maybe shade the tiers in assorted blues?

I have some Celtic links and a very good tattoo artist's site I can send you if you like, they are on my desktop, I am on the laptop right now.

When in doubt, do a google image search for the Book of Kells. My friends and I used it for design inspiration on our Irish dancing dresses as girls, and I still use it today for cakes. Lots of color and inspiration there.
