I have a friend who is getting married in a month. She asked if I could make her a bride and a groom toppers that are edible. Last time I made a person with gum paste and it got cracked easily. Should I use half gum paste and half fondant mix? If you know any good website that offer tutorials on making people, please let me know. Thanks!

Half & half would work...

I prefer fondant mixed with tylose...it doesn't dry as fast so you have time to work the piece till you're satisfied with it.
To prevent cracking, I like to microwave it first, then roll it into a smooth ball, then model whatever body part from that.

I also mix fondant with tylose powder and have had great luck with it (lots of examples in my pictures). I used the tutorials and mixture instructions from Lorraine at Extra Icing too--they are easy to follow and easy to apply to lots of different figures.

Thank you! I will try both half fondant/half gum paste and fondant with tylose.
