i figured out the billowing technique! (tutorial)

hello! i think i figured out the billowing technique! i used it on the 'ivory bliss' cake that i entered at the cake show in austin this past weekend http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1957473

anywho, i took step by step pictures of the process and posted them on my website if anyone is interested icon_biggrin.gif i hope it helps some of ya'll out!

Thanks for sharing this. I can't seem to access the page though. I keep getting an error message - The JavaScript for this page failed to load correctly. Such a bummer cause I would love to see this.

Thanks so much for the tutorial! I have a question though why did you make your billows out of gumpaste won't it harden? And I wonder if I would get the same results using fondant?

babs, i was working on a dummy cake so i used gp so the billows wouldn't break when i moved it across the state lol! and in all actuality, i was low on gp so i mixed it 50/50 with homemade mmf icon_wink.gif they did harden, i guess fondant would work too? my main concern was not being able to roll fondant thin enough (if they're too heavy i don't think they'd hold up well). maybe someone could try it and let everyone know how it works icon_biggrin.gif (my school load is super heavy this week lol)
