I can't wait for this show. This is going to be my first time competing. I went as a spectator to OSAS last year and really got inspired. And it's close to me too. I am really looking forward to Michelle Bomarito's demo as well.

I am SOOOO excited that the show is this year! I had a blast at the last one! So many celebrity faces this year and a lot more to do now that it's in a bigger venue. I hope to see some new talent and more amazing cakes.

I'm going too!! It's so good to have something in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. I can compete and still sleep in my own bed.

The artistic impression items are so cool this year. It's Texas themed but NOT "western". I can't wait to see how everyone interprets the inspiration items. Now I have to start sketching out my entries.

Woohoo! I will definitely be there. Can't wait to see all the creativity. I have a couple of friends that have never entered a show that want to give it a shot.

Should be fun for all!

I love the "billowing" technique. What a great idea. I'm definitely going to try that soon.

cake_architect....ya'll should totally come. It's going to be a lot of fun. They posted the demonstrators and Linda McClure is going to be there. I'm so excited because although I only have the cricut mini (non-cake) I'm really interested in seeing how she gets things to cut out properly....AND the Cakeplay people will be there to do a demo. I'm so afraid of Isomalt but I really want to work with it.

ahhhh i'm afraid of isomalt too! i have a bag of the crystal-things sitting in my cake cabinet but i'm too afraid to even take it out lol! i really wanted to take the tutorial at "that takes the cake" but i found out they were making butterflies and i have this reallllyyyyy odd hatred of butterflies lol! {what a silly reason not to take a class right?! lol!} hmmmm one more reason to drive up there... icon_biggrin.gif

cake_architect ... Isomalt is so much fun - once you learn how to use it you can use it for so many things. Cake Play is doing a great demo and you will be a pro quickly!

Hi Everyone,
There is only about a week left to enter the North Texas Cake and Sugar Art Showicon_smile.gif If you can't enter at least stop by and check out all the great cakes and vendors.

Also I'm hoping to get a CC meetup time one day so we can all put faces to our online identities.
Hope to see you all there.

Hi Metria,
So glad you're are going to make it. I spent more than 3 hrs tonight working on just the cake board...I think my time might have been better spent on something else but once you get started you've got to finish iticon_smile.gif

I started a new thread about doing a cake central meet up at the show.
http://cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopicp-7106466.html#7106466

I think Saturday at 11:30am will work because that's between demos and hopefully it's early enough that people will still be hanging around.

I will actually be volunteering at the show with the Sugar Wonders Cake Club. I'll be in a black and pink North Texas Cake and Sugar Art show T-shirt and my name in the real world is Cristy.
I'll keep an eye out for you and your cameraicon_smile.gif
