I have a recipe that calls for mocha paste and I've found it online but it's so very expensive...at least where I've looked. Does anyone know of something that can be substituted for it? Or where to find it that is not $50.
TIA
AI just was looking for the same thing all over on Internet and found that mocha paste it is as simple as mixed together a lot of Nescafé with a little water.
Yup.
Just go to any grocery store, pick up a container of instant coffee crystals and just add a little bit of water to make a thick paste. Lasts practically forever in your pantry.
Nescafe is just a brand of instant coffee, instant espresso will work as well. Just coffee and chocolate. The Mocha is just a fancy word for Chocolate coffee. Here's a link to a recipe for it:
3 TBSP cocoa powder
1/2 TBSP instant coffee or espresso
3 TBSP strong coffee
Mix together to make a smooth paste- add more cocoa if necessary.
