On Thursday I will bake a 12, 10 and a 8, something I've done enough times not to be nervous. However, this time I'm carving to 12 down to a 10 at the bottom, the 10 to an 8 ect....
Anyone have any construction or fondant covering tips they want to share? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

just read this...sorry can't help...you're probably done with this already...my thoughts...maybe put a cake board the size you need like on the 12" cake put a 10" cake board...score around the board so you know where to start carving...maybe score around the cake up to where the curve would be say 2"?...and slowly start carving?...it's sad to see unanswered posts so i'm just giving it my two cents =)...hope everything went well....
