I've got an order for a corset cake this friday and I'm not really sure how to do it. I've got an idea and thats this....bake a sheet cake and carve it to the size and shape that I need and then carve two balls to go on top and then cover it with flesh covered fondant and then the cover in the corset that I want and pipe some designs one it. I've looked in the galleries and this is what it looks like to me. If anyone has any ideas about this or tips please let me know.

Thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

Check out the one I did in my pics. I just baked a 1/4 sheet cake and used the the pieces I cut out to carve the waist, to make boobies! No need to bake extra balls! Very cost effective!

I do my corset cake with a heart shape pan and two Wilton mini wonder mold for the breast. I cut the pointed part of the heart pan and use the left over to make spackle with butter cream. I place the two mini cake on top of the heart cake an insert two lollypop stick so they wont move around and I spackled around the edges of the breast, let it stand for 15 min and them iI cover the entire cake with buttercream. I only use the flesh color fondant for the neck and breast area only, and the rest with whatever color I am going to use for the corset. if you want to use a full size corset them you need two heart shape pans. SugarCraft has instructions to do a bikini cake, this can give you some idea on how to do the full corset.

I googled "corset template" and found one I liked. It basically looked like this one. I have the template printed out to fit a 12x18 sheet cake, but didn't save the original file. All i have is one hard copy.

Baked 2 sheet cakes, torted, filled, stacked them. Placed the template on top and cut around. Baked 2 half balls for the breasts. Crumb coated the whole thing. I only used flesh fondant for the exposed skin part, cut right where the ball pans met the corset. This is what it looked like:
