Hi icon_smile.gif

I'm trying to make this purse out of fondant
http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://media.nowpublic.net/images//f9/f/f9fe739185e0ae1d64b637488d33c69e.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.nowpublic.com/style/victorias-secret-photo-06&h=425&w=635&sz=74&tbnid=x8nzaq1hR-_fLM:&tbnh=92&tbnw=137&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dvictorias%2Bsecret%2Bshopping%2Bbag&zoom=1&q=victorias+secret+shopping+bag&hl=en&usg=__dK5jy8y1SNizp70KY-spfwu4eXs=&sa=X&ei=B3VfTY6pIMGclgfY3-muDA&ved=0CDEQ9QEwBA
but I cant seem to get the two pinks right, they either come out too light or too dark! I've tried many diff combos but nothing seems to work

anyone have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate it
oh and incase the picture wont work, it's the typical victorias secret shopping bag

thanks for your time icon_smile.gif

Could you try "rose" wilton color for the darker and maybe a pastel pink for the lighter?

Well, it has been a loooooong time since my old carcass was comfortable in VS lingerie icon_redface.gif , but it looks like the same pink in a darker and lighter shade, yes? I would mix a batch of dark pink in the correct hue of pink- a good bit darker than the darker stripe - and make a note of how much pigment I put in how much fondant. Then, measure out (either by weight or by "same size blobs") two sample batches from the big dark batch. Start adding white to one really dark portion, and keep track of the amount. When you get the right shade for the dark stripe, put it aside and grab the other really dark sample. Start out by adding twice the white that you put in the first sample and adjust from there, keeping track of additions. Then, you can mix the really dark shade as your source and make the two shades of the same color by diluting with the appropriate amount of white. With your notes, you can always go back and come very close to matching the colors you need.
