I've used the NFSC recipe many times all with good results. But this past time there were large air bubbles in my cookies when I took them out of the oven. What did I do wrong?

not really sure this is your answer... It could be a couple of things.
your dough might have had an air pocket/bubble after you rolled it out. This has happened to me once before. If your dough is too soft from being warm it could cause bubbles. I've always placed my dough in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before I start to roll them out. When I am ready to roll out its more firm (a little harder to roll out sometimes) but it eliminated any problem since,
It could be old flower or baking soda/power. Sometimes this can cause several alterations in the recipe. Including the difference in taste.
The NFSC is a wonderful recipe that I will never stop using. I've notice the fresher the ingredients the better the dough is more workable and the taste is #1.
Not sure it helped... Good luck!

Thanks for the response. It could be that the dough was too soft. I'll try freezing it.
