this may seem dumb but when making green tea cupcakes or green tea icing, do you brew green tea and use it in place of the liquid in a standard recipe or are the green tea leaves added as a dry ingredient? Thanks

For all of my green tea cookies and cakes, I use Matcha green tea. It is a ground tea into a powder. Very pure and intense. I do know of some recipes that call for brewing of teas and using the brewed liquid and leaves in the cake. I have never tried them though...
