I recently purchased the MYOM kit for one bottle. I watched all six of Chef Dominic's instructional videos a handful of times just to make sure that I was doing everything correctly. Well it all appeared to be right, until about 20 min. after I poured the silicon into the tube. It all started leaking out of the bottom. I hurriedly scooped it all back in and made sure (once again) that my clay was sealed. This time it stayed. Unfortunately, in the rushed process of attempting to salvage my mold the tube slid about a quarter of an inch, unbeknown to me. So since my bottle was not centered, my mold has a very thin wall on one side and a tiny hole. I did call MYOM, and actually got transferred to Chef Dominic himself, to ask "what did I do wrong?". He gave me a few pointers. It appears that my clay may not have been completely solid around my tube and that would allow it to leak. I believe that it took 20 min. to start to leak because I had my kit on my counter top next to a picture window and it has been very cold lately. I think, maybe, the clay was not the proper temperature when I started. It is also VERY important to use plenty of anchor dit, don't be stingy, you have plenty! Good Luck!

I'm so glad you called me so we could figure out what happened! The Safe-D-Clay can be temperamental, so it's important to make sure it's the right temperature. I hope your next attempt turns out much better...don't hesitate to call again if you have any more concerns!

Thanks for the tips! I've never used the product, but it's good to have some tips for the day that I do.

My second attempt at this went off without a hitch.... well I actually called Chef Dominic again to ask a couple questions so I didn't ruin it again, but my final project came out perfect. Thanks again, Chef Dominic, for all your help and support. Can't wait for the next project!!
