I love making gumpaste shoes and knew that the day would come when someone would ask for a platform shoe....that day was today. I have searched the internet, done a search on CC and cannot find instructions/directions to make a platform shoe. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks.

I'm not sure of this because I have not made a gumpaste shoe yet, but my first thought was to make the platform part seperate really thick like 3/4-1/12" depending on what you are going for. Let that dry out a bit then build the rest of the shoe on top of that so that you get the heel the right length. That will give you a seam between the platform and the shoe don't know if that would be a problem for your design. If you mean a platform wedge type shoe where the heel is solid across the arch I would probably give up (just kidding) do the basic shape out of rice cereal treats then cover with gumpaste so you are not using a ton of GP on it. What do you think?

I just found this picture http://cakecentral.com/gallery/1762538 from another thread (how to make a zipper one) by looking at the first response's pictures so that was kinda what I was seeing in my head for the rice cereal wedge thingie.
