It just makes me sort of laugh, but I had a customer call today and tell me she loved my cakes, but asked if they tasted any good?!? Well YEA!! LOL I feel like telling her if shes scared, order some cupcakes and try a few! I don't own a full on bakery, just a home bakery, so people can't just come by and sample goodies. How do you explain you flavors to someone? It wasn't a stupid question, I suppose it never hurts to ask it, but would anyone tell their customer "no, they taste like cardboard"?? HAHA The only thing I could tell her is as long as I have been making cakes, I still love when I get to eat some myself!!

I have never had a customer ask me that, but my dad does all the time. When talking about a cake I just made for a client he will ask "did it taste good" or "was it tasty". I am like, "no, I made a crap flavored cake".

Stupidest question.

This is the kind of response I'd end up giving! icon_lol.gif

Had a friend ask a group of us for hair stylist recommendations. I told her I really liked the lady who did mine .. been using her for 20 years. She said, "Is she any good?" I said, "No, I LUV using hair stylists who makes my hair look ugly and stupid."

Things that make you want to say, "DUHHHHH"! Or who's that guy that always says, "here's your sign." (meaning stupid)

Yeah, it's like people who come on here asking if anyone has a "good recipe for xxx". Oh, shucks, you wanted a GOOD recipe? I only have crappy recipes. I'll hold onto those in case someone comes on and asks for a "crappy recipe for xxx".

Selling her a small cake or cupcakes would be the best solution. You could also give her references, but she can't be sure all your other customers don't prefer crappy tasting cakes. LOL

Great responses from everyone. And, Bill Engval the comedian is the guy who says that. Love his comedy! Especially the one where he takes his wife on a hunting trip and she wear a yellow jogging suit! LOL
