I need to make a pair of gumpaste high heels. They are for a 60th birthday cake, and the party colors are silver, red and black. How in the world will I make black gumpaste?? Should I get chocolate fondant, do a 1/2 and 1/2 mix with the gumpaste and then color it black from there?? I have never tried a 1/2 fondant 1/2 gumpaste mixture... will it dry hard enough? (the party is next weekend!)

Thanks!

i use 1/2 and 1/2 all the time for accents. Althought never madea show before. I dries very hard and i find it was easier to work with than plain gumpaste.
I happened to have black fondant on hand so i mixed that 50/50 with gumpaste then added more black colouring. Worked like a charm. Good luck.
