I just got my first ever kitchenaid mixer yesterday and I am wondering is it possible to fit a larger bowl on the 4.5 qt model?

No. Each model of kitchen aide is made for that size bowl.

Make sure you check out the height of the beater and make adjustments as needed.

Some Mixers will hold larger bowls.... Call KA's Customer service to find out if you have one that does.... I called the other day for another question and got talking about the different models when she mentioned it.
I cant remember which ones though. I'm pretty sure the jump was from a 4.5 bowl.

Good luck!
