Hey guys!
I came across a website that sold a cake slicer called "Piece of Cake" Layer slicing kit. I thought it looked pretty interesting, especially for making Caramel Cakes. Has anyone ever used it? I need some feedback before I pay out the $59.95 for it.
Here is the website http://www.kitchenkrafts.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_BP3411_A_c2p_E_hp
Thanks,
Lazy_Susan

OK lets try this... If no one has ever used it, tell me what y'all think about it from looking at it. Do you think it would be worth the money?

Wow.. that is pretty darn cool. I've never seen it before. It's a great idea. I can never seem to cut my cake evenly so I if this were something I had to do all the time, I would invest in it.

never seen it or heard of it before... just from the pic & description, I don't like that you're limited to 9, 10 or 11" cakes. I LOVE my Agbay, so I say save the $60 & put it towards an Agbay leveler.

I agree with Sherry Lyn. My agbay is awesome and was the best $$ I've ever spent. With the agbay you won't be limited to a just a few sizes.

as others said, i'd rather spend that money on an Agbay. The one you have posted is limited on sizes of cakes you can use it on. I remember seeing this posted awhile ago (been a few months) and it sounds like a good idea, but since it's limiting on size of cake it only seemed beneficial if you were a higher production bakery making the same size cake a lot.

For those of you with an Agbay, does it hold up over tons of usage? For that amount of $$, just making sure. Or is there another less expensive but good option leveler that you guys recommend?

I'm planning on ordering one of these kits to take with me when I go to other houses and I am not able to take anything big with me. But that's only because I am not planning on making anything bigger than 9" at those houses.

Sometimes people ask me to go help with the leveling and decorating, and this would be useful for that since any knife would do. This will be my traveling kit. Even the big Wilton leveler is too big, and the foldable one is bad, so no other alternative for "take with you."

I also vote for the Agbay. It's the last leveler/torter you'll ever buy.

If all you ever make are 9, 10 and 11 inch ROUND cakes and you're happy with the layer thickness this product has determined for you, then knock your socks off.

With the Agbay, you choose how thick your layers will be. Down to 1/8", if your cake is sturdy enough.

And, with the Agbay, you can torte any size or shape cake.

It's no more bulky to lug around than most cake decorating tools. And it comes with a safety cover so the blade and anything near the blade is protected when not in use.

Plus, the Agbay is just one piece. With the other thing, you need the mold and a knife and possibly the cake lifter.
