I have a few questions on a cake I really wanted to try to make for my boyfriend's birthday. I've made a few cakes before but only tiered cakes, not any that would be as structured as this one.
The cake is of "Domo Kun", and I want to try to make it standing. I don't know what to use for support, especially to have the arms stay on. Also, would it be best to stack cakes for the legs as well or use something stronger??
Another question... how would you cover the shape with fondant? Obviously in pieces, but how do you make it so it is smooth and you don't see lines?
I attached a picture just so you can get a better picture of what I want the cake to look like...
If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!!

I <3 Domo Kun. I've been wanting to do a Domo cake for a while so will be interested in tips. I hope you post pics of yours.
I have a Domo cake to make soon too...I was thinking about using rice krispy treats for the legs and definitely insert supports in and stacking cake for the body.
I was thinking of rice krispy treats for the legs too. How were you thinking about attaching the arms onto yours?!
well depends on how I wanted to position it...if its just on its side then I'm probably just use Rice krispy treats too so it'll be lighter and use tooth picks to add extra support.
