Just wondering what is the most that you have ever put out in a week? I have a family that thinks I am superwoman & can do 7 in one week. And not small cakes either, I'm talking a diaper bag with shoes & bottles & all!

I know everyone is different. I have 5 children under the age of 9 and work out of my home kitchen. So i have to do the decorating part when they are all asleep....and the little one doesn't sleep through the night. The most i've ever done in one week is 4, but that is SUPER pushing it...because that means 4 out of 7 nights with no sleep. It literally takes me all night to get a cake decorated. I'd rather do no more than 2. That is a much more comfortable number for me, although i NEVER look forward to a night with no sleep.

My limit is two a week but lately I've been doing three. So with that said, Sabrina you are a super woman. Good for you!!!!

My first time doing cakes for anyone outside of family and friends I ended up with 3 the same week (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). By Saturday I was exhausted and my kitchen looked like a tornado hit lol. I usually only have 1 or 2 a month. I have someone that emailed me last week wanting a cake for her daughter's 21st birthday and that has now turned into her wanting to do a joint birthday for her daughter, her son, and herself. So three cakes, two of which will be 2-tiers and the other a football field sheet cake. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to plan out everything to make sure I have ample time to complete all three. I don't think there is any way I could possible do 7 in one week. I'm still to slow and to much of a perfectionist to be able to do that many.

I'm a business, so I can do more, but I don't necessarily WANT to do more. This summer I sometimes had 4-5 weddings and 10-12 celebrations. This year I'm cutting out celebrations and doing 3 weddings/weekend. Only celebrations above a certain dollar number. Should come out the same in the end, because I'm charging more...

Wow!! I think it all depends on whether or not making cakesis your full time job. I have a full time job so I only do 1 cake a weekend but have made 2. But not on the same day....I'm too slow for that

But others can whip out 5+ cakes a week!!!

I have done up to 10 but that was too much..Usually about 7-8 deoending on the size.

I work out of my home kitchen and I can do a maximum of 42 layers to be made into tiered cakes. This is a tough weekend though and I wouldnt want to do it every weekend unless I had a bigger kitchen. On average I do 4 tiered cakes a weekend.

Home baker here as well, I don't really have a specific limit, but more of a time to serving limit. Like in May I booked a 200 serving cake, 3 tiers, totally plain buttercream with fresh flowers. I can do more than that so I took another bride, 3 tier square with minimal brush embroidery. And they are literally delivered next door to eachother. I can do more than that, so I took another for a 5 tier fondant covered with fairly detailed swirls, now I'm booked.

I tried saying no cakes on my kids birthday weekends, but they are June and September, so I only take one those weeks.

Most weddings ever in 1 weekend was 11. And I wanted to kill myself.

My absolute maximum was 21.....this was a horrible nightmare (and for about hald the week I called in some help) but a couple of days into it and we were ready to kill each other.....this was because of a scedualing mistake! But since Im a home baker it totally depends, the most I have done (beacuse I planned it) was 9. but I definetly prefer 4 max.

I prefer to think it terms of servings. I can get out 1K servings. More than that and it's probably an all nighter. And I'm talking all deliveries on the weekend.

I am a home baker as well. I've taken up to 3 weddings in one weekend. I like to think in terms of servings and how much I can handle. So if its a very detailed cake I may only take that one or 2-3 simple cakes.

WOW! That makes me feel better. LOL! I have a large family that wants valentines day cakes to take for school & such, on top of the baby shower. I no longer have a full time job so now I have "plenty of time". LOL! It's just nice to see that I am not alone!

It depends on the size and design. The most I've done I've done as a home baker were 7 cakes in one weekend, 4 of them carved for about 100ish people. That wore me out. Only because of the carving.

In the professional kitchen I can do much more. because there's more room to assembly line the process.

it's all how you prepare for the week, last year was my first year in business, my kids were ages 5 and under then, i did averaged 4 cakes per weekend, with some weekends having 8. everything was made a head of time, so most cakes took little to no time, i am sooo much faster than i used to be!!
