Thread Starter 
How about a category dedicated to cakes made with the Cricut Cake and a gallery dedicated to cakes that are decorated in all buttercream only. thumbs_up.gif

What do you guys think???

would be neat if this site showed tag clouds, then we would not have to pigeon hole anything into a specific gallery.

What are tag clouds? And how do they work?

I frequent other craft networking sites that use tag clouds (or some other web-savvy vocabulary I'm not familiar with):

http://www.craftster.org/ (all kinds of crafting)
http://www.ravelry.com (knit & crochet)

When you submit something to be viewed/shared with others, you tag it appropriately with many attributes. Users can search for items based on whatever attributes they like.

Tag clouds basically show the frequency that items are tagged by making the text of the tag bigger.

What I'm really looking for is a better way to search. This is an example from ravelry. The entire left column are attributes I can use in my search. Across the top where I've highlighted are my current search attributes that I can easily manipulate.

Aside from what you've suggested, I would like to see a catagory for "non-cake/cake related" photos.

I would love to see an in-general micellaneous catagory for those that want to post photos of cake stands, table settings, kitchen set-ups, ribbon collection etc..etc...There seems to be a need for this. There already seems to be a gazillion catagories of galleries to look in- they should really think about adding a few more, wouldn't hurt.

Thank you metria. My initial reaction was that it was basically the same as the key words we put in when we post our photos. But I can see how more intricate that is and how it could shorten some of the pages we have to go through to find what we are looking for. I know when I do a search for something and see there 2500 pages, I get worn out before I get started.... lol Not that I'm complaining about all the cakes on here, on the contrary, I love it, but I can see how that could make it easier. (I still don't have it all down yet, but I know in the past I've come across the words like that and didn't understand what I was looking at. Now, thanks to you, I do)

We used to be able to post those kinds of pictures right into a related thread but that hasn't worked for months. Now, when someone needs to provide a visual reference to a conversation, there's no choice but to put in in their gallery or link to an outside site.

I would love a spot for cake stands, I could be a bit biased since I collect them LOL but then we could post where we found the stand so others could grab one too if they love it!

I have been searching for kitchen pictures that have been posted on here by members. We are going to build a building for a commercial kitchn and I cannot find any actual kitchen pictures when I search. I have even requested members pm me with any pictures of their kitchens that they might have. I want to avoid any problems with good ideas from the start!
