I use citric acid to make sour candy, and I ran out the other day. So a friend of mind gave me a bag that she had bought for bath bombs and never used.

Is it food grade?

anyone know?

Not knowing where your friend bought it, it's kind of hard to give any guidance. Does the packaging say anything?

all it says is "Citric acid, Speciality use only"

I can't help answer your question, but where do you buy your citric acid? I've been wanting to get some.

You can get it usually anywhere that sells wine making stuff

You can also order it through the pharmacy sometimes, and order it online

There is a lab-grade citric acid that I have purchased for bath fizzies when I was making lots of soaps and lotions. I don't have any left, and I don't remember specifically how it was labeled, but it was not food grade.
