I need to create some legs for a cupcake idea I have. I want the legs to be sticking out of the top of the cupcake or the cupcake standing on the legs if they're supported enough. Barbie-type legs would be great - I'm going off a "Deal or No Deal" theme with the models. But I don't know how to make a mold of them in one piece? - or do you know where I can buy them. I need to do 26 cupcakes and don't want to form the legs by hand. Any advice???
Yes, I've seen that! They also have a kit at Michael's I can pick up. I'm just not sure how to make the mold two parts so the leg is one piece and I can get it out of the mold. I'll have to play with it I guess.
Thanks!
online you can find a candy mold for people- do a google search for "woman gumpaste people mold" (i have a link, but i'm not sure if it'll come up "http://www.fondantsource.com/wogupemo.html"). i have the mold and it works well!

GREAT! I had seen those before but could NOT find them again! That's what I needed, thanks sooo much!!!
I personally would buy a cheap doll and carefully cut the legs in half down the seams ( after pulling them out of the sockets)and use that as a mould. Not done it but am sure it may be a viable optoin.

That's a great idea too! Hmmmm...might have to try it!

This is super easy. You will notice on the legs that there will be parting lines from when the legs were molded. Simply take some Silicone Plastique and cover half of each leg right up to the parting line on the leg. Let it cure - about an hour and a half. Do not remove this cured first half. Then cover the second half of the leg with more Silicone plastique making it meet up with the first half. You MUST apply release-dit to the first half of the mold where it will come in contact with the second half or it will bond and you will not have a two piece mold. Once everything is cured, you can use these molds as two piece press molds and crank out legs in the medium of your choice.
Hope This Helps,
Dominic

Dominic, thank you SO much!! That's exactly what I needed to know...and I won't have to destroy a barbie doll in the process!! I didn't think of doing it twice like that where the first one cures first.
I don't have released-dit...can I use crisco or something like that????
